Exploring the Mysteries of Palo Santo on the Beaches of Peru! 🌿🏖️

Beyond the Palo Santo wood that this “sacred tree” gifts us, as the natives call it, we find many other extraordinary properties. I had the opportunity to discover them firsthand during my recent trip to Peru, where I stumbled upon a Palo Santo tree on the beach of Punta Sal, located in the region of Tumbes, on the Pacific Ocean coast.

Yes, you read that right, on the beach! It turns out that Palo Santo not only grows in the typical dry forests of this region but also thrives wild on the hillsides by the sea. In fact, this factor, being outside the usual dry forests where it typically grows, is one of the most ecological and sustainable ways that allow this tree to reproduce without the risk of illegal logging.

This encounter with Palo Santo in such an unusual environment was enlightening. It made me reflect on nature’s ability to adapt and thrive in various ecosystems, and how we, as humans, can learn from its example.

In addition to its aromatic wood and purifying properties, I discovered that Palo Santo is also a natural refuge for a variety of bird species and other animals. Its presence on the beaches of Peru not only adds a touch of mystery and beauty to the coast but also contributes to the ecological balance of the region.

This journey reminded me of the importance of preserving and protecting our natural resources, as well as exploring and appreciating the diversity of life on our planet. Each encounter with nature provides us with the opportunity to learn and grow, and I am grateful to have experienced the magic of Palo Santo on the beaches of Peru.
